On November 26th 2006, our
beautiful (3 weeks short of) 19 year old daughter died in a car accident on her
way back to college after Thanksgiving break. The world as we knew it would
never be the same again.
This is a parent's worst fear and
nightmare, to which life is changed forever. A child should grieve for their
elderly parent, never a parent grieve for the loss of a child.
Kasey is the youngest of our three children. I say this because,
although she is not here physically, we feel her presence here spiritually every day. Yes, I miss her beautiful smile and hilarious laugh, but I believe that although the physical body dies, the spirit lives on just in a different space. I talk with her all the time. (I don't consider myself crazy...although at times???? No)
I have a special place where I go, to get quiet and just be. We, also, have had signs--and I swear that if we weren't paying attention, we'd walk right past them.
This site was the brainchild of my dear friend Lisa. I thought what a great idea. We chose the color green for
the background because that was Kasey's favorite color.
Grieving is so very exhausting and art is a
way of expressing that grief and a way to connect with others who are going
through similar things. We hope that you will find this site helpful and know
that there are others who are experiencing similar lost. The art here is an
expression of feelings and it can be whatever is helpful for you.
